Small Group Questions

As we start a New Year it’s an important time to reflect on our relationship with God, giving thanks for how He has been at work in our lives. It also helps us consider priorities and steps we can take to grow in Him. Below are several questions to get us started:

What Bible passages have been particularly meaningful last year and why?

What is a significant way I experienced the love of God last year?

How is my relationship with God? (is God at the centre of my life or on the fringes?)

In what ways can I take steps to know God more and follow Him more fully?

What specific things am I thankful to God for? (have I maintained a grateful heart througout the year?)

How are my relationships? (is there anyone I need to forgive/ask forgiveness? am I prioritising quality time with family and friends?)

What areas of sin/compromise do I need to bring to the cross? (am I fighting against sin or have I given in to particular habits and patterns that aren’t pleasing to God?)

Where do I most need God’s grace and what steps can I take to receive His help? (remembering that God often meets our needs through others).

How has God used me in the lives of others this year and what ways can I intentionally reach out to others in the new year? (especially to those who don’t yet know Jesus)

What is God speaking to me for the year ahead? (key verses, themes, etc)

What are some specific prayer requests?
